The United World College of South East Asia is an independent international school in Singapore, and a member of the United World College movement. The school provides a K–12 education consisting of five interlinking elements: academics, activities, outdoor education, personal and social education and service.
We are a united, welcoming community that embraces students and their families from almost 100 different nations. The second member of the UWC movement, the College was opened by Lee Kuan Yew as Singapore International School in 1971. SIS became the United World College of South East Asia in 1975 and gradually expanded to become the K–12 international school of over 5,500 students across two campuses that it is today. The UWCSEA learning programme leads to the IGCSE in Grades 9 and 10 and the IB Diploma in Grades 11 and 12. The school has two campuses, with around 3,000 students at the Dover Campus and 2,500 at the East Campus ....
Our community, while large, celebrates and builds on the success of individuals, with an aim to create a wider impact through our mission. UWCSEA embodies everything the UWC movement stands for: concern and compassion for others, the willingness to accept responsibility, and tenacity in pursuit of the truth. What also distinguishes our students is how much they give service to others: their compassion and commitment are writ large in the many hundreds of hours of impactful service the College bears witness to every year, across a hugely diverse range of activities, and which we celebrate as much as our academic achievements.
UWCSEA is a complex organisation, requiring a large network of individuals and teams working together to ensure that students are receiving the best possible educational experience every day. While we view all teachers as leaders in their own right, our senior leadership teams are accountable to the long-term future of the College. The senior leadership teams consist of the Board of Governors (BOG), the College Leadership Team (CLT), the Learning Leadership Team (LLT), the Dover Leadership Team (DLT) and the East Leadership Team (ELT). These teams are supported by the Dual Campus Operational Leaders, who oversee key business, administrative and operational functions.
....We believe that our students’ learning, interactions, and growth through the five elements of our learning programme are all the more exciting and enriching when they interact with peers who bring a diversity of backgrounds, life experiences, and perspectives to campus.
We open applications each year. All applicants who meet our entry criteria, and are therefore eligible to be offered a place, are placed in an application pool for that campus and grade. ....
All of these eligible applicants are then considered for all the available places in the upcoming academic year during our application cycle; our timelines information provides guidance on key dates for the current application cycle.
If there are more eligible applicants than there are places available, we consider a variety of holistic profile factors before allocating places to individual students.
