School Overview

BISR is a five campus, not-for-profit school in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We are very proud of our strong 40-year track record of educational provision for children aged 3-18.

.A very warm welcome to the British International School Riyadh website. BISR is a vibrant community of over 60 different nationalities situated in the heart of the Middle East. We are a multi-campus school, providing education to children throughout the city of Riyadh. Our Al Hamra campus is home to 1600 students from age 3 to 18, and our Salwa campus is the educational home for 150 Primary students from ages 3-11.Our Tabuk and Taif Primary School campuses, which joined the BISR family in August 2020, support learning for 60 and 30 students respectively. The DQ campus opened in Autumn 2020, initially providing education for 300 Primary School students aged 3-11, has now expanded to include a full senior school. ....

Leadership and Teachers

The Leadership Team (LT) consists of the Principal; the Chief Operating Officer; the Executive Head of the Salwa, Taif and Tabuk Campuses; and the Heads of the Primary and Senior Schools at Al Hamra and the Diplomatic Quarter campuses. The Extended Leadership Team is composed of the LT, along with Deputy Heads and Assistant Heads from the five campuses.

The LT role is to manage day to day operations, and implement Board policies. The Heads of School / Campus are responsible for the curriculum, staffing and budgeting for their sections, while the Bursar has an overview of the non-academic areas of school life: IT Infrastructure, Finance, Facilities, Admissions, Administration and Human Resources. ....

Admission

At BISR children will be placed in the correct year group for their age. Children are assessed and, if successful, placed in year groups appropriate to their chronological age i.e. age appropriate birthday between 1st September and 31st August. Exceptions are considered for those arriving from the UK education system for summer born (June, July and August) placement in Foundation only . Once placed in an age appropriate year group, students will not be allowed to jump a year group as they transfer from a UK school to BISR or during their time at BISR.
