School Overview

Al Sahwa Schools are an IB World School. We are on a developmental path to offer three International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes, thereby giving us an international curriculum based upon the finest contemporary educational practice. We will have a planned learning continuum from Kindergarten to Grade 12 that builds upon all our existing qualities and strengths.

The IB (International Baccalaureate) offers fully structured programmes of international education for students aged 3 to 18, working in close cooperation with other IB World Schools around the globe. Al Sahwa is one of 4,871 IB World Schools worldwide. ....

The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is for learners aged 3 to 12, focusing on the development of the whole child in the classroom and in the world outside. Al Sahwa has full authorisation as an IB World School to offer the PYP.

The Middle Years Programme (MYP) for learners aged 11 to 16 provides a framework of academic challenge and life skills, achieved through embracing and transcending traditional school subjects.

Al Sahwa is an IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) Candidate School, hoping to achieve full authorisation in March 2020.

Alongside the GED, Al Sahwa intends to offer the full IB Diploma Programme from September 2022. The Diploma Programme (DP) for students aged 16 to 18 is a demanding two-year curriculum leading to final examinations and a qualification that is welcomed by leading universities around the world. Al Sahwa is currently applying to the IB for DP Candidate School Status.

Each programme includes a curriculum and pedagogy, student assessment appropriate to the age range, professional development for teachers and a process of school authorization, evaluation and global quality assurance.
