Mayoor School celebrates 150th birth anniversary of Gandhiji with KG1

Mahatma Gandhi was an exceptional leader and human being. He has influenced and inspired both individuals and world leaders in the fight against inequality and oppression, and has provided an invaluable contribution to peaceful freedom struggles across the world. Mahatma Gandhi’s struggle was first and foremost for the freedom and independence of the people of India. But his message was also one of universal relevance. His voice for humanity, equality, justice and non-violence gained global recognition.

Gandhi’s teachings also remind us that change often begins at the individual level, and that we all, as human beings, have the capability to change the world. Today, Mayoor School celebrated a remarkable man, who’s achivements continue to inspire every human being.

Mayoor School organized an event for KG1 students and parents on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Gandhiji. Each family had to build something re-capturing and recreating some significant moments from the Mahatma's life; using eco-friendly materials.

The models were beautiful and very creative. A few students dressed up like Gandhi, many created charkha (spinning wheel) using ice cream sticks, and other waste materials they found at home, they made Gandhiji's clothes, spectackes and topi (his essentials), etc.

KG1 students presented their creation in front of the judge by talking about what they built, how they built, Gandhiji's 3 monkeys, his achievemnts, and narrated their favorite Gandhi ji's slogan.

By organizing this event, Mayoor School not only arranged a fun activity for their students and parents; but also inculcated parent-child teamwork, collaboration, communication, learning through fun activities and created the best family moments.
