For Grade One, a student is accepted if the child has completed six years and does not exceed 8 years by 31 December of the year of being accepted.

In some private schools where the academic year starts in the month of April, the date considered to calculate the completion of a student's age for the target Grade is 31 July.

The Educational Councils and Zones in each emirate regulate Fees in Private Schools, which will differ depending on School Type, Curriculum Facilities and School Ranking.

In Abu Dhabi, Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) oversees and licenses private schools. It develops and maintains a quality private education system.

Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) is responsible for the growth, direction, inspection, and quality of private education and learning in Dubai.
