The Three Changes by Divyalakshmi V.P.

The Three Changes

The Three Changes penned by a Divyalakshmi V.P., a Grade 9 student of GEMS Our Own High School, Dubai

The world around me

A gifted place to be

Bursting with colour and life;

My chrysalis of paradise.

Time takes its toll

Into transition, we fall.

Blinded by ruthlessness and brutality;

Clutched by war and cruelty.

My home I call at present

Unlike its glow eons ago,

A treacherous realm of melancholic voids

A journey deprived of a better tomorrow.

Within us, a spark on the verge to ignite

A beacon of hope in the ocean of darkness.

Our minds weighed down by fatigue of the past

The vehemence of change span will wide and fast.

In the game of 'The Greater Perhaps'

To eradicate hunger- my first move.

Dire necessities for all to live on

Days of starvation for once and all, gone

My focus onwards drifts;

The Female gender cocooned by safety.

A soft delicate rose are they

Swaying blissfully in the gardens of equality.

The virtue of abnegation

On these rocks, restored forevermore;

My final change this upholds

A life of peace and nature galore.
