SHIKHAR SURESH NAIR

Shikhar Suresh Nair is a thirteen-year-old student in grade 9 at GEMS Our Own Indian School, Dubai. He is a passionate student with an all-rounded nature. Shikhar can be perceived as a student keen on affirming the world's commitment to peace and security. He is a pacifist who has attended various Model United Nations conferences which help the youth voice their opinions on world peace and security.

Shikhar has won various accolades in the fields of debating and MUNs. He was awarded the best delegate and top delegation from GEMS Our Own Indian School at the GWAMUN conference. In addition to this, Shikhar is also a student who stands by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) initiative by the United Nations which aims to build a better world for all. He attended the Skillsphere SDG summit MUN and debated on SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). He was also the winner and best delegate of India's International Movement to Unite Nations which was held at EXPO 2020, Dubai.

Shikhar is also an avid reader and a passionate writer of poems, novels and short stories. Recently written, two short stories (Flames of Freedom - The Unsung Tale; The Ember of Darkness) were published on 'Reedsy Prompts'. Three of his poems were also published in the school magazine, 2021. Along with his passion for writing, he has proven his academic skills by scoring more than 90% across all subjects in the previous three years. He has been awarded as the 'All-Rounder Student' in Middle School category. He has also proven his leadership skills and was accredited as the Head Boy of Middle School. He has been involved a lot in extra-curricular activities and in the initiatives taken by the school for a better environment.

Shikhar was also part of the record set by the United Arab Emirates for 'the most people performing kata' which was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He got his 1st dan black belt in karate in the year 2018. He has also been an active participant in sports.

Shikhar aims to be an asset to the world in the future and work towards global peace and security. He dreams of breaking the Guinness World Record and becoming the youngest author of a bestselling book. He aims to implement and execute pacifist principles among societies.
