Madiha Rafi, an 11-year-old girl from Gems Millenium School, Sharjah. She is an outstanding student in academics and sports. She is an aspiring girl who has won prestigious awards in her school. Madiha is a proud winner of Academic Laureate, a prestigious badge given to1/8th of the students in the grade who have secured more than 97 percentage in their exams. She has also won medals, certificates and trophies for sports at intra – school’s competitions and is recognized for it also. Madiha is also a certified covid ambassador of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid university in Dubai and an active volunteer at Dubai Cares a platform which enables volunteers to help the environment.
She is engaged in all the platforms she gets to improve her skills such as ASSET, Mindspark and Achieve 3000. She is the top scorer in her school for the month of October in Mindspark. She has won in various national competitions and is also part of her schools football team and has played football matches with the schools in UAE. She has also won 2nd place in High Jump competing against 23 schools at Iris Memorial an athletics competition organized by Gems Modern Academy. She has passion in reading and creative writing and has written articles as a eco-monitor at school. She also has developed passion in playing chess and has participated in chess competitions.
She is a member of the Gavel club I her school and has presented her speech Life As An Obstacle in Harmony Unleashed program started by her school. She is a winner of Golden Ribbon which are prestigious certificates which is given to 1/10th of the students who performed excellent in their Olympiads conducted all year around. She has got 4th place for her creative, innovative and sustainable solution RoboDoc in Innovista, an innovative science competition which is held every year by her school. She has won prizes for her acting as story characters such as Alice and Amelia Jane.
Being a member of Dubai Cares Madiha has also started a campaign which supports SDG goals such as SDG goal 1, 2,3,6 and 17 for the people who do not have food an has raised 1,500 AED. She has distributed food to the security guards and laborers as an act of kindness in the Month of Ramadan. She has also given speeches to others on social issues and has done PowerPoint presentation to educate her peers about how they can help in it
Reduce, recycle and reuse are the golden words to reduce pollution and she is collecting the newspapers and plastic from neighbours and depositing it in her school which collects the newspapers and plastic and gives it for recycling. The various initiatives for volunteers of the UAE government have really motivated her to continue her humanitarian services. Madiha has donated toys, clothes and money to the charity to help the poor.
